The Glen Alps have moderate hikes, skis and back packing adventures with little altitude gain, but fantastic views of the Anchorage Bowl, the Alaskan Range and Cook Inlet.
Flat Top (3500') is a mountain at the front of the Chugach Range. We do not go up the traditional trail, but access it by the backside so we can enjoy a quieter, more relaxing and interesting climb. This climb extends along a four-peak ridgeline, for those who don't want to come down.

Old Johnson Trail is a moderate trail that follows Turnagin Arm and
eventually ends up in Seward, Alaska. We enjoy the first six miles. The
trail starts at Potter's Marsh passes McHugh Creek and ends in up in Rainbow
Valley. Certain times of the year one can see Dall Sheep, Mountain Goats,
Eagles, Moose or Beluga Whales.
Prospects Heights is a moderate hiking and skiing trail system with many opportunities for wonderful views of the city, McKinley, Redoubt Volcano, wildlife and charming creeks. Prospect Heights is also the trailhead for two fairly easy climbs, the half-day climb up Near Point (3006') and the full day climb up Wolverine Peak (4455').
O'Malley Peak (5,150') is a moderately difficult full day climb. We hike up Little O'Malley and enjoy the stroll through the 'ballpark' back to O'Malley Lake where we scramble the up a scree patch to O'Malley's ambling ridge. O'Malley is one of my favorite peaks, because it has a comfortable crow's nest to enjoy the spectacular view.

Rabbit Lake is a moderate hike, ski or backpacking special. We follow the 4-½ mile trail out between two ridgelines to Rabbit Lake framed by North and South Suicide Peaks. Bring your fly rod and fishing licenses incase your eyes need a rest from the spectacular view.
Bicentennial Park has a multi faceted trail system for hiking and skiing. This is a great place for a half-day experience.
Williwaw Lakes provides a spectacular setting to pitch the tent. O'Malley, Wolverine and Williwaw Peaks surround them. This hike can be extended into a two-day camping trip out pass Long Lake; through the North Fork valley and up over Near Point.
Crow Pass is a moderate to difficult one day or two-day back packing trip. The trail begins in Girdwood's rain forest and meanders up the 2000' pass. We will pass relics of a rich mining history; glacier fed waterfalls and glaciated peaks.
